Fiber Aerial Lineman



Position Summary

The Fiber Aerial Lineman installs, maintains, and repairs fiber optic lines on utility poles. This includes setting strand, lashing fiber, and installing aerial hardware for broadband deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install fiber optic cables, strand, and associated hardware on poles
  • Use lashing machines, pullers, and hand tools to secure aerial routes
  • Perform pole climbs, bucket truck operation, and mid-span slack loops
  • Follow NESC clearance and grounding requirements
  • Support make-ready work and pole transfers

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years in aerial telecom construction
  • Familiarity with lashing, guying, and strand tensioning

Preferred:

  • Bucket truck and climbing certification
  • CDL Class B
Aerial Work Environment

Work Environment


  • Outdoor elevated work, exposed to weather and electrical hazards
  • Travel and night work may be required
